I'm absolutely knackered now and have gone completely gaga over Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream (my ultimate temptation!;P).I've basically finished 2 pints of it within the space of 2 days!!!(now you know why I'm always skint!hahaha).Oh btw,I quit my job today, after only what,6 days??hahaha...couldn't stand the boredom and just can't be asked to do anymore of those running up and down the stairs with tonnes of super-heavy refuse bags and then put them all on a trolley and push them all they way to the skip.that's all that I've been doing for the past 6 days really.Errmm..there goes my first 'graduate job'....d'oh!
Had a fantabulous picnic at the Memorial Park in Coventry this evening and a personal big thank you from me to everyone who had worked so hard in preparing the food and such and made it an excellent mini-bash!That game of rounders was great too altho it was apparent that it was becoming a bit too agressive and intense at the end.It was fun nevertheless and I still claim that winning title (finally!) especially from that 'kerekster' Azzad Redza Shah yg akhirnya kalah!:P (mind the pun!).
All in all,it was a great day indeed but extremely tiring! ;) but of course,super-fulfilling! ¡Estoy muy contento!¡Gracias!
I decided to watch the football match (Holland vs Portugal) at 'The Bar' partly because they've got a big screen there and I get to soak myself up in that 'football frenzy atmosphere' (You get to hear people screaming and swearing in different languages and also the way they bitch the players everytime they slack off on the pitch. So hilarious!!) and partly because I wanted to catch up with my mates and I knew I was bound to meet some of them there. This time I was supporting Portugal, since they are the closest to Spain ;P (d'oh,how lame is that!?!?hahaha...anyhow,I reckon they play quality football and so no doubt they really deserve to win this tournament!)
Timah then decided to tag along me (menyibuk jek!urrghhhh) and she definitely spoilt my initial plan...Kidding!!?!;P.She later ditched me (how dare she!!) and went straight home after the first half of the game.(She said she couldn't stand the cigarettes.LOL!)After a little bit of socialising during the interval I then joined Kevin (a Malaysian doing Masters) and I soon got acquainted with his friends,Jerry from Holland (yikes!and didn't actually look like one) and Mariana from Bulgaria and much to my surprise most of the people around me were supporting Holland.Tough luck!Mariana was asking me which team I was supporting and since Jerry was sitting next to her I decided to lie and said I was just there for a good match and I don't care who wins or loses.(Why lie??People there don't give a shit anyway and you have all the rights to choose whichever team to support!)I guess maybe it was because earlier on during the day I was hurt by a scornful remark from someone who proved to be immaturely insensitive to realise that what had been uttered wasn't a joke for me and didn't have the decency to apologise even after a few cynical remarks from myself.(Why do I always encounter these kind of people??)So I was probably trying to make sure everything that drifts off my tongue won't hurt other people's feelings and that's why I lied.
Anyhow, back to the football match, can you just imagine being in a state where you had to fake your actions when deep down inside you, you were behaving differently.I had to cheer and sigh for both Portugal and Holland (to make it less obvious) when I was actually jumping with joy and sneering at the Dutch team whenever they were blowing their chances off.(I felt like a hypocrite!)hahahahaha.....Anyway,when the match ended (and hurrah, way to go Portugal!!)all the four of us decided to play pool. These Masters students are really cool people and they seriously know how to have fun!Jerry wasn't quite like the 'typical Dutch' that I was once told them to be.An European friend of mine used to tell me that Dutch people are (the female ones), I quote "tall, big, with big boobs ;P,blue-eyed,smart but arrogant and stuck-up,and think that Amsterdam is the only place that has got it all!"hahaha...ok whatever!Anyway,I soon found out that Jerry was half-Dutch half Indonesian and no wonder I wasn't really convinced that he was Dutch in the first place. He didn't know any Indonesian but he does know a few words like 'sapi kontol' which basically means 'cow's dick'!hahaha(Good, now I'm taking up a new language!Does 1 or 2 words count?LOL!!)Mariana was simply adorable and crazy!(I like!;)).Anyway, the moral of the story is to never stereotype people as it is unfair and people behave differently regardless of race.I can still remember a bloke once told me that "You Malaysians exclude yourselves from the others???"I wonder if he had met every single Malaysian on the face of this earth before passing such comment? That is just plain lame, the remark!
Well, that's it for now.I am yet to indulge into another 'Dutch Experience' myself later this month when I'll be flying KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, destination:KUALA LUMPUR!.(Can't believe I'm leaving UK very very soon!!Sob!Sob!)Well, buggering off now.Laters!Ciao!

I know it's been a while since I wrote and although exams and all that are over,I have been unbelievably busy!Too extraordinarily busy to even update my blog!!(Or was it just because my life hasn't been hit with anything interesting lately that I just ain't got a clue on what to write?!hehe)Anyway,it has certainly been a hectic week indeed and it all started with the shipping of my 'valuables' back home to Malaysia. My friends and I(Kupak,Sal,Shakira,Adlina,Raihan,Josephine,Izza, and most ultimately Wanie, otai a.k.a. team leader who also happened to be the person with the most no. of stuff, 29 boxes!!can u just believe that??!!! ;P)basically hired a container.Apparently I didn't have as many stuff as the rest of the people but it literally took me bloody forever to sort the packing, sealing and all that out!I won't go into too much details on it but in short it was quite an experience,a combo experience of pain, stress, joy and satisfaction and we were all smiles when everything got settled as planned.Let's hope the smiles will continue on up until all our stuff eventually get unloaded at Wanie's house.
Next it was moving out time and I have officially left Lakeside Residences, the place where I called 'home' for nearly a year!It was simply amazing the place and not to mention, kinda posh too!;)I had my own bathroom,an internal telephone and the all-around scenery was just relaxing!(It could have been a lot better if the construction of Harron Banks did not take place at all!why then???)Now I've descended to Redfern, where the rooms are tiny and I felt quite unwelcome at the start.(my door was a bit dodgy and it still now is and for the first time ever,I got myself locked inside the toilet (nothing so strange there I know) but then I couldn't get myself out of there after that!Pathetic innit...It was bloody embarrasing I know so am not gonna babble about it but yup,I did manage to get out of there,ALIVE and with full dignity eventually!!LOL!Anyhow that dodgy bathroom door has already been fixed (if u're wondering) and hopefully there won't be such repeating incidents in the near future.I seriously hope so!!ahahaha....Well anyway,I'm pretty sorted out in my new place now and my new flatmates seem to be kinda nice.
Like last year,I have to get down and dirty again this year because I am doing this shitty work (garbage collecting, cleaning turning around the halls etc, extremely tiring and nothing fancy I know) but Thank God the pay is good (decent and normal by the UK standard but extravagant by the Malaysian standard. ;))This is what happens when you spend foolishly throughout the year and, come the end of the year, you find yourself skint to the bone!Gosh, and yet I tell everyone I have an Accounting and Finance degree! How scary is that!?!?!HECK!
Eventho life's hectic nowadays,I do manage to squeeze in some fun too.I had a game of rounders with Azzad,ShaHira a.k.a. ShaKira;P,Izza,Timah and Wanie. It was explosively fun and at the beginning my team was kicking Azzad's team's ass out big time but as they say 'shit happens' and we were later kicking ourselves in the end instead!(Blame it on Shakira!LOL!!).No worries,I have always believed in the word 'Revenge' and I can assure you guys it's gonna be a sweet one next time we play again!hehe..Phew,it has certainly been quite a week indeed!I got my degree already (Yeaayy!!!) and now am just waiting for my Congregation Ceremony which will take place on the 13th of July 2004.I can hardly wait!Ok I am absolutely shattered now and damn it's gonna be another hard day's work tomorrow!Sob!Sob!Till later folks!Bonne nuit tout le monde!A bientot!Au Revoir!
I had breakfast this morning with this English friend of mine named Matt whom I haven't met since Operations Management exam (shoot!now i'm reminded again about my dreadful exams,..oh well!) and his soon to-be-wife Debbie at the 'hottest breakfast spot' in university, where else if it's not Rootes Restaurant having what else but the 99p 5 items breakfast.Did I mention he and Debbie are getting married soon?Yup,they're getting married very2 soon and the delightful thing is,I am invited to the wedding (yeaayy!!!) but the not-so-delightful thing is,the wedding will take place in August and I am obliged to be back in Malaysia by August by my sponsors, which means I will most definitely miss it.(what a shame!!).I've always wanted to see with my own eyes how an English wedding looks like, especially if it belongs to someone that I know.As for their honeymoon plans, they're not quite sure yet on where to go but flatteringly, they did actually show quite a bit of interest on Malaysia as I have been pestering Matt to come to Malaysia and enjoy the sun and the sun-kissed beaches and also not to mention the cheap ringgit! (oh my,now I'm really missing good ol' Malaysia!).I ought to claim some rewards from Tourism Malaysia for doing this!LOL!Well,as a matter of fact I do miss home quite a lot and maybe it's about time I go home and open up a new chapter in my life. However,I am still quite astonished as to how quickly time passes by and sometimes it just freaks me out simply by just thinking and contemplating about my future. Will I be successful? Will I be happy? Will I be satisfied? Will I be able to contribute to my country and society? Will I be rich? How far will I go?..I could go on and on and the list would just go endless.Soon I will start on my new job and not to mention being one of those people who will be in their offices from 9 till 5 and everything will just become a routine before you even realise it!**Dumbfounded**I don't know but sometimes I just wish that I would never have to grow up,never have to crack my head out just to get a good degree and secure a decent job and your family will always be there for you should you ever need them. There will be no cares and worries and life would just seem to be as carefree as can be!Well maybe that's just plain naive and me suddenly feeling reluctant to take on more responsibilities in life.Ok I admit that was a lil bit childish of me but as much as it hurts to grow up I know I am up for it as there will be more challenges and ever-widening opportunities to make myself a better man and citizen. After all life is what you make out of it and it can only be done possible if you embrace the future. So maybe embracing the future isn't really that hard and dreadful after all and I always have this notion in mind that no matter how good or bad things turn out to be,they are there for a reason and God is the best planner. So whatever that has been rolled up for you in the future would definitely be the very best for you!
Anyhow,it's good to hear that more and more of my friends, both here in the UK and back home are starting to settle down and I wish all of them a life full of joy, happiness and success.Well as for me,only time will tell and like my favourite quote,"just go with the flow" but of course I don't ever want to be left out in this big circle of life but for the time being, let me just enjoy my singlehood and my 'last fling' during these last few treasured moments of my university life.University of Warwick, maybe it's a little bit too early but, thank you for splashing beautiful colours onto my life!Wicked and I can sleep in peace now!Good nite!
